Default Painting over Chrome

Has anyone ever spray painted over their chrome grill? If so, should I scuff it up with some light sand paper first & what type of spray paint to use? Maybe I should just buy this grill instead

You will definitely need to scuff. Don't listen to the dopes at Duplicolor who will tell you to just clean it and use adhesion promoter on an unscuffed grill. I did and it's all peeling off.

On a side note Metalcast paint does not perform as advertised on plastic chrome.

I wet sanded mine with 1200 then 1500 grit sandpaper followed by self etching primer. It has held up well, but is now starting to show some spider web cracking.....I was in a hurry the last time and did not do it correctly. Adhesion promoter would probably help.

Yeah, gives me a hard one just thinking about it. And I think Ill do a painted bumper at the same time, and do eyebrows on the nightrunners. Just the professional paint job will be $500 or so though .....

Send your head lights to me. I will paint your headlights if you pay for shipping
Might as well send your whole front end, Quote me on this. I am willing paint whole front end if you pay for shipping. It will be cheaper... I don't mind.

Ill keep that in mind for sure. I have to figure out what a bumper would be to ship. The size of the box will be killer. I can get an aftermarket bumper cover for $50, but I am still thinking about getting a Mopar one but it would be $200. Thats the only item I need, and then just paint.
