That is how I felt when I blew my headgasket.

If it helps, I will tell you something I haven't told a soul yet. Last weekend I started taking apart my old transmission to see how it held up. I found my planetary gears for 3rd are burnout out, nearly completely. All clutch material is gone from them. No wonder I didn't have a 3rd gear pull. Do you know why this happened? I went to Pep Boys to get a good deal on a tranny fluid change right before deployment and it seriously crippled my transmission. Normally I do it myself but I wanted to save $ and spend some time with the family. That is why I'm so big on DIY, shops just **** me off. Don't beat yourself up man. Stuff happens.

Good luck Kent, stuff happens man.

Its actually all good this am. I had a real rough idle when I first started it but smoothed out and no problems now. Maybe the piece got pulverized enough to "pass through"..??

Here's an idea. Find a shop that has a scope and pull the plugs and shove the scope in there to see if you can find any damage or piece of the grommet. Then if there is something pull the heads, if you dont find anything then take your chances and pray it worked itself out.

Yeah, the good old lifter noise. Mine has 118k miles on it and it doesnt get any knock retard at start up. The only time I get knock retard is if I run it hard up a hill or have it under some load. I never hear pinging which is good, but watching the KR%, it will jump to 2-3% for a second sometimes.
