Default Any 3rd gen paint issues?

I'm still looking at dakotas to buy, and something I've noticed with all the second gens I see is that the clearcoat and paint is stripping on the hood and all over the damned trucks. Did they rectify whatever issue with paint they were having for the third gens?

Issues that have come up for many owners including myself

- Rear fender wells rusting due to stupid spray foam seam on the inside of bed and bad welding
- Front radiator support rusts bad also

I've never seen a third gen with peeling clearcoat..just rust the places eimer mentions. Mine had the radiator support rust but I fixed it.

Ny 05 has 108K and only minor rust on rad support, no fender rust and no clear coat issues. And they use a lot of road salt here in NJ.

My rad support is almost as bad as eimer's, but I don't have any on the fender's. I did recently notice though that my rear bumper is starting to rust in a number of spots.

Might have to use this DIY bed spray kit on the rear bumper, and front rad support.

I am also starting to get a bubble or two on the pass side rear wheel opening...the seam joint has a slight misfit. Drivers side has no issue.

Rad support had a slight issue, but I took care of it.
