Projekt Dirt *Update*
Hey guys and gals!
Ive got a little bit of an update for yall. Weve been out of the forums for a while due to a few setbacks but were back with some news, good and bad.
Bad news, shop burned up so weve relocated thankfully the tube bender and most of our major fab tools didnt get roasted. A little bit of more bad news. Our original kit idea for the 4" lift isnt going to work the way we first hoped. The use of tubular uppers with uniballs and NOT extending them would cause the uniball to hit the coil no matter what, thus not letting us utilize a strut spacer AND a uniball upper control arm to achieve the angles. Weve tried spring relocation brackets, Arm drop brackets, etc etc. There was no solid way of doing it and we didnt want to put our names on a kit we didnt think would last...
GOOD NEWS!
There is still hope for a lift kit and we are currently in the prototype stage of this kit. since we couldnt "cheaply" build a 4 inch lift because of the compact design of dodges front suspension, weve decided to go with a mid travel kit consisting of new upper and lower arms that are 1-3" wider depending on what your application is, and are still utilizing the high quality adjustable heims and ballistic joints that we first intended to use. We are also including hardware and brackets to allow you to use a bolt in adjustable coilover from companies such as FOA, Fox, Icon, etc. Which can be included or supplied on your own depending on your budget. Weve also solved the steering issue that we used on the first prototype, Nothing has changed there.
So dont get your hopes down because we arent. Were still striving to pump out a quality kit for you guys but just realize that one off kits for this kind of truck cant just consist of a few brackets and some pocket change.
So stay tuned as we are really close to getting some teaser pics and more specs and of course....estimated pricing. The facebook page is almost done. Were spicing it up so it looks nice for you guys
