Thanks Harebar for you info. I have had the sending unit replaced and that was no help. I'm betting that there is something wrong with the tank it self as they have about changed every thing else out.

Elite: Ya I'd say your talking about the last of the 2011 truck and getting ready for the 2012. Stay tuned for the rest of the story. Later RJD

Sorry to say for all you Dakota fans out there, but production of the Dakota ends today.

No sooner than I said everything was alright with my gas guage did it act up again. It dropped to empty when I knew I had a half tank. This time I took it straight to the dealer so they could see it. He said this time they were going to replace the sending unit (again) along with a pump or something in the gas tank at the same time and see if that works. I am going to take it in tomorrow and have them put it in. Hope that works. I really like this truck, but I will use the lemon law if it comes to that. Can't be driving a vehicle and not know how much fuel you have.

My motorcycle, like most, has no fuel gauge. We simply fill up every x many miles.

Not that I'd want a broken gauge either.

Haebar: I took mine in today and as I drove it up the gauge goes to emty. Good now they can see the gauge is still doing what I keep telling them. Like yours it goes to emty only after the gauge starts to read 1/2. Stay above 1/2 and it seems to work. Mine has been back 4 time not counting today. I sent the paper work into Chrysler per the lemon law yesterday. So either way I'm about done with the truck. They are suppose to have there high tech boys there today to check my truck out. They have replaced the sending unit in the tank plus about everything else. So yours may be like mine, they are stumped. Good luck I hope your issue gets resolved. Keep us posted. Later RJD

Hey RJD, How is your lemon law thing going? I hope I don't have to do that with my Dakota. I got mine out of the shop again yesterday and so far so good. It is on less than a half tank and the gas guage is working. Time will tell.

Haebar: Can you tell me what they did to fix the issue? I will be picking mine up today. The Hi-Tech folks came up with a deformed fuel tank so that is what they are replacing now. Sure hope this does it. If not they got them selfs a truck back. So far between parts, labor and car rental fees they have spent close to 4 grand. We shall see what happens today when I pick the truck up. You can bet I'll keep you all Up dated. Later RJD
