Default Outdoor Temperature Sensor

So I've searched and searched and searched; and I have found no help with my problem. So the situation....My Dak is equipped with an outdoor temp sensor which displays the outside temp on my instrument cluster. Well about 50% of the time that I start the truck it is stuck at the last temperature that it was at when I turned the truck off. So I could be 90 outside and it reads 70. Well the problem is, this should update after 5 minutes or so, right? Wrong...Sometimes it takes up to 30 minutes of driving before it starts to display the real temperature. I asked Dodge and they said that it might be a faulty temp sensor. Does anyone else have a solution before I go and replace the sensor?

disconnect the battery for an hour or two and then reconnect it.

I've had the same issue as you and removing the battery cables fixed it right up.

Perfect! I'm going to do that right now. That makes me happy that it is most likely something that I wont have to spend more money on.

those sensors are easy to swap out, and they should only be like 20 bucks.

Ambient air temp sensor.

Mines done this once or twice... a restart and reset should do the trick.

Is that located right behind the grill right infront of the lower radiator core support?
