it didnt involve a trailer and reversing at night time. amazing you can do something a thousand times. not one problem. then screw up....bad.
My side had a crease in it when I got rear ended. The body shop tried pulling it out and just made it worse, so they ended up replacing the passenger side of the bed. In all, they replaced the rear bumper, tailgate, and side with all new genuine Mopar parts, and it totaled around $4000.
I'm not an insurance expert, but can't you throw it on your comprehensive, pay the deductible, and take a small hit in your rates at next renewal?

Mine covered, pull the dent out, straightening it by the wheel well, 4 new mopar splash guards (cause you apparently cant buy 2) Removal of my Backrack and toolbox. Then Also repainting the entire bedside and bumper.
I took the toolbox and backrack off, Said F the splash guards since I still had 2 from my 2k and told them not to touch the bumper and it was 450 cheaper.
So I made $450 off my accident, lol since a 16 yr old girl ran into the side of it.
Other then that gash its not to bad, Looks mostly like 1 giant dent. Unless the bedside has to be replaced cause the gash in it.
