Hemi Swap 1yr Plan
If I were to venture a guess, 300 HP 340 TQ, but its 0-60 is gimped by the 3.55s and the heavy 20" wheels.
My dyno day last march pulled 177 HP and 238 TQ with only superchips on, no other bolt-ons. Now the list is huge, not including the hemi. I had these wheels then too.
i got a code today for low trans fluid pressure I wonder if I didn't overfill it when I topped it off after the swap.
I'm actually surprised at this things top end, it really screams up there. But feels like it drops off around 5500. There is no sign of gear searching on the hill climb to my neighborhood like there used to be. It holds a lower gear at half the rpm with no signs of wanting to downshift. The torque converter (2600 stall) takes a bit to get used to though, its really alive at 2k plus, but pulling away from lights are a bit sluggish without all that bite in the 1300-2000 rpm range.
I will be upgrading the transmission, for sure. Valve body sounds like a good start, but eventually I want something real tough from ATS, sharadon, or one of the other rebuilders. But for now, my spending money is on hold. Money is tight now.
I long for 4.10s too, it just never ends.

It's ugly, I won't be recommending the shop to anyone. You get what you pay for I guess.. Down from the headers into the cats isn't bad at all, but the bend from the drivers side over to the ypipe is pooey. Then the rest is my existing system, with the spintech 3" single SUV muffler. It's a bit of a neckdown to go from 2.5 x 2 into 3"... 3.5 would be perfect, but I'm doing dual some day anyways.
I can get some pics of it next week, I will also be throwing up some better videos, drivebys, and it might see its first race in august, that will be video'd too. A new trans cooler is going in next week too, and I'm going to tie up all the small "ghetto" fixes I did just to make it road worthy.
Thanks to everyone who showed and kept showing interest over the course of this belated 1yr plan lol. This swap is soon coming to an end, but this truck will never be done!

Ok, so I got my E-fan problem half way solved. Went to the junk yard today and picked up a 91 Taurus 2 speed fan for 34 bucks. Right now it's completely temporarily wired, to the battery with a switch on the ground and no fuse lol. But I drove it around for an hour and it never peeked past 180-190.
I'm looking in to the Hollister fan controller that uses a step up method to get to max speed. Starts on slow speed for a bit then starts the high speed, so the current draw is much less on startup. It can be wired to use both speeds too with two temp switches, or in the single speed mode that steps up.
I'm going to hit the drag strip this friday, maybe I can get someone out there to film it for me, and hopefully I dip into the 13s!

you had an HHR right? ***** weak..haha I'm disappointed in mine. Mine randomly overheats and its real annoying. It could be 90 out and the gauge will sit 3/8 of the way up and then a nice 80 degree day like today I go fishing 10 minutes down the road and she's heating up on the way back. Getting annoyed..I might try the GMB water pump and if that doesn't work I'll do a Taurus fan next summer

The problem isnt the water flow though, it's the air flow. You can rush water through the rad as fast as you want, but if it doesn't get cool enough on its way through, then you are just pumping hot water back into the engine, only faster.
So I used the taurus fan today making parts runs for work. Hauled around 700lbs 30 miles away, and came back to run around the city for an hour or so. The temp is 98 right now, not a cloud in sight, and dry as a bone... 10%ish. It stayed 3/16 under half way the whole time until I started the city run, then it went to about 1/16 under half way. After making my way back, still in city, it went right back to 3/16 under, which is around 180, so it probably peaked at 190-195.
Overall I'm very pleased. Since it worked so well, I'm going to homebrew a 2 speed relay setup that will run on high with a/c and be activated from a switched source, (heated leather seats fuse block)
