You are welcome sir.

-------

So I don't have a solution for headers yet, but I picked up a few items from Amazon today.

I got an Innovate Motorsports wideband kit and mounting pod, 2x 2.5" In/Out Magnaflow catalytic converters, a jet 180 t-stat, and the Derale controller for the HHR fan.

stay tuned.

I made some measurements today. My Durango oil pan won't clear... by 3/16" of an inch!!! That means a well placed hit with a hammer will let it clear

Ok, the breakdown. I wouldn't have to change ANYTHING if I had a Ram oil-pan and pickup tube. Here's why.

I don't have a differential, so the middle is completely clear until 13" forward of the transmission structure which is the steering rack. Below that structure plate, is almost 9 inches of clearance so even the deep part of the Ram pan will clear. Since I have a Durango pan, the middleish area has the oil pickup and so the area toward the front is 3 and 2/3rds deep. The Ram pan is closer to 2 1/2 inches. The crossmember itself has tons of clearance, it's just that steering rack that gets in the way.

Here's pics of a ram oil pan and my durango pan.
My recommendation to 4wd swappers, get the ram pan for sure.

So are you just going to pop on a RAM pan?

Not quite sure yet, I'm leaning toward keeping the durango pan since it will only take very lttle modification.

There's a good inch inside the pan before it gets to the pickup tube, so I just have to make sure whatever mod I do to it doesn't make oil puddle at the front of the pan. I'm litterally thinking of just pressing it in at that spot and not welding at all. As long as the mounting points don't bend it should be fine I think.

Now, a 4wd, even with the ram pan, will have to section oil the pan. I can't say for sure how much without clearances. If someone wanted to measure from the back where the transmission mounts up to where the diff starts and then down. In front of the rear crossmember, you need around 8" depth for about 3" forward, and then 3" of depth all the way to the front of the pan.. doesn't seem to bad. The 2nd gens had a harder time for sure.

Is this timing set a 5.7 or 6.1 set? The 6.1 set is supposed to have more springs behind the tensiioner. How many springs does yours have and what is your part no.?

Oh, the timing set is still the 5.7 set. Are you talking about the tensioner? Do you think I should upgrade to the 6.1 set or a billet set? I'm not planning too much ultra high RPM stuff.

Yep...the tensioner...the 5.7 ones are known to fail. So just for clarification, what is the part number for the 5.7 one and how many springs per side?
