So I verified some things, upon closer inspection. My '05 hemi harness has more in common with the 4.7 than than it does with the '06 hemi engine. But, the differences are very small anyways. My advice to anyone is to get an '05 transplant.

So far, what I need to do is;
Relocate the camshaft positioning sensor plug, it is the same connector however.
Relocate crankshaft position sensor plug, again same connector
Relocate the EGR, again same connector.
(the next two might work, or I need an '06 harness)
Replace my coolant temp sensor with one from an '05, possibly Dakota
Replace my oil temp sensor with one from an '05, possibly Dakota

And the map sensor, has a different connector. If another one bolts up, I'll just get a different one. I just don't want to have to buy another harness. But, there is a 2006 harness at another junk yard near me. Too bad I can't return the other one.

Ok, a correction. The MAP sensor is fine, clips right up.

I went to buy an oil temp sensor and coolant temp sender, I got the coolant sensor but apparently the oil temp sensor doesn't exist.

I can see two things by my oil filter on the 4.7, an "Oil Pressure Switch" and some other thing, looks like a coolant sensor, the lower connector. The hemi has the exact same setup but with a different plastic connector. I took the hemi one out and it is indeed a temperature sensor of some kind, but I can't find the true name for it. The Dodge Dakota 2005 Service Manual only shows the Oil Pressure Switch.

Parts store called dodge, asked for an oil temp sensor and they gave them the part number for knock sensors lol. I need to find out what the true name of the part is so I can ask dodge myself. So I'm looking for a 2006 Dodge Ram service manual now..

Ok, scratch that. The 4.7 doesn't have that extra sensor. So that means I have all the connectors I need. As long as the throttle body connects up when I get that back. Woot.

Won't be many updates on this for a few days, except for pics of parts tomorrow and Monday. I have to do a serious overhaul on my garage so I can use the work-bench that came with the house for the first time since we moved in (3.5 years)

haha, you had me scratching my head. All that time I spent down by that oil pressure switch I didn't recall seeing any other sensor. I was going to check when I got home

So I got the torque converter, manley pushrods, and 6.1 valve springs today. The torque converter is from a 2011 Ram R/T, which is around a 2600-2700 stall. Cam arrives monday.

I'm not going to paint the block after all, I'll just do the valve covers. It's a new motor so it's pretty already, but mainly it's just an unnecessary expense and it's time consuming.

Here's the goods;

Nice!!! I agree with only painting the valve covers. The engine already looks pretty fresh.

This truck is going to be monster. Definitely one of a kind

Thanks guys.

My biggest hope is that the oil-pan won't need to be modded. It's a Durango motor, the pan is pretty flat up front and the back by the crossmember is angled pretty well so I can only see the steering rack as interference, if the motor sits real low..

thunder, I got it from a member on DT who never got his project off the ground, and he got if from a guy with an R/T ram who upgraded his. It's a $750 part from dodge supposedly and I got it for less than $200

Here's some pics of my 6.1 hemi valve springs installed and the start of the cam install, that should arrive monday.

All the work done by me, I've never even replaced a water pump before I started this build, just suspension work, fluid changes, and a t-stat or radiator here and there.
