Default lifted dakota?

I got my tax return in and can pay off my truck, now to start upgrading. I was thinking about lifting my 05 Dakota about 3 inches. I've heard mixed reviews about lifting dakotas and having them break shortly after, is this because they installed improperly? or is there just a problem with a lifted dakota?

a friend of mine told me to look into a body lift kit, have to say ive never heard of that, kind of makes me embarrassed to say. is that a better option?

this is my first vehicle I've thought about lifting and just want to do it the smart way without damaging anything or doing it wrong.

any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.

i am using a bodylift 3'' from performance accessories
you can purchase from them a combo lift 3'' with 2'' leveling kit and plastics that hide the gap under the box.
on purchase any leveling kit 1.5'' 2'' or 2.5''

www.jackmyride.com
is the best option

If its a 4x4 you are limited to about 2 inches of suspension lift before you start braking front end parts unless you are willing to dump a bunch of money on a JMR kit for 6 inches. For 3 inches of lift its pretty much body lift or nothing.

......... this combo
this could work

i like this one.

I really think the JMR 6" kit is good, I like that it uses new Ram spindles so you can get all the front brake options that the ram has.
