dead battery
Bummer, woke up this morning to a dead truck, battery finally went, truck is a 2005 with 122035 miles on it,(original battery) was so happy that it hit the 122000 mark, stopped and took a pick, 35 miles later kaput. luckly it was in my driveway when it crapped out, called carquest, told them my dilema, 1/2 hr later, a driver showed up with a battery for me, how unlikely is it, that the local parts store will deliver a battery, or any part to your house, great auto parts store and fantastic people that work there.

whats next?.....usually the alternator or starter if his luck runs like mine has in the past.
wow, thats a long time on a battery, but for me in other vehicles ive had the original batts seem to last a long time.
funny thing, my truck had 37000 miles on it when i bought it & the battery had already been replaced ....wonder if there's another dodge crappy oem story there?

Not likely ... Like Everything Else in the World .. there will be some that dont last as long as they should and some that last longer than most ... plus Dodge doesnt make the battery - there are only like 3 battery manufacturers that service the USA (Delphi, Exide and Johnson Controls)

If you keep atleast a 1/4 tank of gas (never let it get Empty before fill ups) use quality gas -the pump should last a long time ... todays pumps are designed to always be submerged in gas to keep them cool ... and like every other motor out there if it over heats you shorten the life of the motor/pump (plus you will suck trash though it .. the strainer/sock wont stay perfect forever

but true, sometimes you get a great lasting product,& the next one off the assembly line is a dud...
