I think it has to do with how well you drain the truck. I noticed that I had to pour in a bit more oil when I did my oil changes in an inclined driveway vs a flat surface. Perhaps because I was able to drain the oil better when the car was a bit inclined....

are you saying the front is higher or the back is higher?
nose higher to drain all the oil outta the pan. I usually run a left over quart down the fill tube and out to flush any crud sitting on the bottom of the pan.
I know the 4.7 holds 5.7 litres of oil and the 3.7 holds 4.7 litres. or something like that.. I thought that was funny.... and a quart is .9466 litres...
