Hi,
Borrowed a friends 2005 Dakota. Backed it up my driveway parked it two hours later tried to drive away and all I had was neutral. In scanning around I saw some talk about a "motor" that shifts between 4 and 2 and it might be burned out.
Anyone have some more details, best guess, part numbers and name. Any help would be appreciated,
Thanks

4x4? did someone put the little **** under the dash center council area into neutral?
Bottom right hand ****, you can put the trans into Neutral here, but I do not recall how you do it from here.

Sounds like the transfer case servo has failed, might be a fuse, might be a relay.
I would check all the fuses, and check into what relays do what. Might be something as simple as a simple corroded wire on on a sensor.
If the "N" light is on, then you are stuck in neutral.
How to get it back into gear is beyond me.
