My brush guard saved the day
Had a little fender bender over the weekend. i was coming around the turn when I hit a piece of debris on the road with my front driver side wheel. That brief second that my front wheel was off the ground was all it took for my vehicle to start going straight instead of continuing around the turn. The truck then proceeded to slam into the concrete barrier wall going 65 mph, which fortunately the brush guard took the initial impact. I managed to quickly correct my steering and pull myself off of the wall, but it was too late and the damage was done. But I swear, if it was not for my brush guard, the damage would've been far more worse. I will try to add some pictures and keep you all posted on her recovery as she is going under surgery as we speak.

Thanks guys. Yeah, the most important thing is nobody got hurt. Already spoke with claims adjuster. Good news is, my policy states pretty much verbatim that she will get fixed to pre accident condition. Also, there is an ammendum that states they will cover up to $1,000 on any aftermarket parts that were damaged. So, she should get fixed as good as new. He did state that he was going to have to check the cost of repair vs the value of the truck and see which is less. I'm probably low balling the value of my truck, but I would guess that the damage is far less than $10,000. So we will see. Here is a pic of her not even 3 days before the accident.

Thanks, yeah, brush guard is actually fine as far as I'm concerned. But we have to include the front drivers suspension. The lower control arm looked like a pretzel. No idea about the rest of it. If they come back to me and say its totaled I would be shocked, but hey cut me a check for $12K and gimme my truck back as is and I will be sure to fix her up myself and make a nice down payment on a 2013 GMC Sierra
