Default '05 Dakota transfer case shifting issues.

I have an '05 Dakota V6, auto, 4x4 with 130K on the clock, stock everything as my DD beater. It has the 4WD selector on the dash marked 2WD, 4Lock, 4Lo.
Recently I started occasionally hearing a "zzztt zzztt" sound after using my key fob to unlock the door. Last week while sitting in the parking lot waiting to go into work( engine off, key in acc) I felt what seemed like someone nudge my truck, looked around, no one there, then I heard the "zzztt zzztt" sound.
I've deducted that my truck is trying to shift into 4WD.
I pulled the fuse to the actuator and this has stopped the problem but now I need to know the fix for this.
The "SVC 4WD" light is on in the gauge cluster intermittently now for obvious reasons.
Any help would be appreciated.

The issue may be the switch, Transfer Case Control Module (TCCM), the motor itself, wiring or connector issue.

Check out the threads below, there are plenty more like it.
