Thanks for the advice. When I left for work today it was about 65 degrees outside AND I let it warm up. Still got a high RPM rev with no "go". gradually dropped into first. Not good.

I have the same situation with my 2005 QC 4.7L AWD, but I think you guys are stressing out over nothing. I had the same symptom to a degree with my 1993 3/4 ton Suburban 4WD. It just takes a little bit to get the fluids warm and flowing. The Suburban has over 150K on it, and is still going strong. I do not perceive this as a problem, but something more akin to letting your geartrain warm up before putting it under a load as in limited slip differentials.

this is normal,its done to warm up tranny fluid.these trucks have done this for years.nothing to worry about

no problems here, get in the morning, start truck for a few seconds and smoke the tires as i leave the driveway like i do every morning.
