Default Upgrade disc brakes?

I have noticed that the braking on the 2005 does not inspire confidence. I think I read somewhere that Dodge uses very hard pads for it's brakes.

Has anyone changed to an aftermarket rotor or pads? If so, what results have you gotten. Were the rotors drilled or slotted?

Thanks, trying to find ways to improve my truck.

Yeah your right they are a harder pad and they produce a lot of heat, and any other after market pad's or rotor's will be a 100% better than the stock, cause i dont know if you know but many of us dakota owner's had trouble with are front brake's, especially the rotor's warping, and some with the rear drum's and did you say something about not being confident in your truck when it come's to stopping, well i dont know about the rest of ya, but when i have had to use the brake's in a serious matter, let me tell you that truck come's to a halt fast, almost sending me through the windshield j/k lol.

My truck does not stop as fast as our SUV (Saturn VUE) but it is lighter but still way faster than a full size truck......is there a big differance between the Gen2 and Gen3 breaks I know both my 03 SXT and 04 SLT have 4 wheel disc breaks do they now come stock with drums in the rear ?

So, is what I'm hearing is that there are no aftermarket rotors or pads that can replace the parts on the front of the vehicle? That's what I was asking, and if anyone had tried them were they better?

My 97 had drums on the back too. Never understood that.

Thanks

Here's a link from eBay for the rotors I haven't tried them ,right now I'm more worried about the rear than the front.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Dodge...QQcmdZViewItem
