ive had a dvd touch screen cd player installed for awhile.with a component set and amp.everything was fine i just took it apart to clean up the wires.
now all my lights stay on in the guage cluster.it doesnt show if its in drive or park with no tach speedo wipers.but the radio works
and headlights all fuses work and the wires seem to all be fine.cant figure it out took the dash apart and still nothin.crossovers are installed in behind the kickpanels but i dount anything back there would make it do that
do u know what it could be i didnt touch anything else sence i first installed it.

 

You probably knocked a cluster wire loose on the right side of the instrument panel. I took mine apart a few months ago and there is a wire harness on the right side of the instrument panel. Getting to it is a pain in the ***. Just bring it to the dealer.

 

the speedo and wipers dont work also as well as the turn signals.are u sure this is what it could be.
did u pull ur cluster or u messed it up pulling out the radio

 

I pulled my cluster, there is a wire harness on each side of the cluster. The one on the right is probably a little loose. Just bring it to the deler and have them check it out.

i installed a kenwood touch screen dvd player and navagation unit with component set.i think pulling the cluster and pushing the plug in will be easy compared to
what i had to go thru to get the unit in.thanks alot

 

ok i just took the whole dash cluster apart.all the conections were fine
is there anything else that would cause this.the truck is a lease but im buying it out at the end.
i dont want to take it to the dealer dont want to spend the extra cash they would charge if i could fix it myself

so has anyone else had this problem before and what did they do to fix it

i dont think mine is the wire on the back as they were all connected just fine.
the stupid part is i didnt really touch anything the dvd player has been installed.
i did mess with the crossover i got one installed in each side kickpanel.could it be possible
that one of the wires around that area could cause this.


and my main question is it bad to drive it the way it is with all the cluster lights on.
i do need to fix it asap i have no wipers or turn signals i can live with everything else for now
but thats my main worries.
i hate electronics when it comes to body wiring

 

Is the truck no longer under warranty? They shouldn't charge you a damn thing if it's still under warranty. The dealer didn't charge me anything. They just replaced the whole cluster.

 

its under warrenty its alease but i have the radio and stuff installed.i think they might try to charge me

 

I doubt putting in a new radio voids your warranty.

 

i just figured they would think i meesed it up in a way.
