Gen 3 R/T's?
Welcome to the forum! Don't feel like you don't belong...there's a real good mix of guys like us, who aren't do it your selfers or real good at working on our trucks, and guys who are really, really good at that sort of thing. Ask any questions you might have...anyone here would be happy to help you.
So, how do you like your Gen III R/T? There's quite a few things that you can do to improve your economy some. Correct me if I'm wrong in this, but you can add exhaust, intake, JetChip, and a t-stat (which by itself does little, but with everything else, helps) to get some gains. I'm in the process of starting some of these upgrades myself, and I'm hoping to get the exhaust in here pretty soon....I just got a lead on a good muffler shop, so hopefully I can get things started.
Good luck!

I still think, an Gen 3 R/T should have a hemi, and some engine work like the gen 2 r/ts.
btw someone said then gen 2 r/ts had 260hp.. correction its 250crank/340tq.
Ive owned 3 trucks,2 fords (p.o.s)'s, and now my dakota r/t. Out of all of them, this is by far the best truck. With just a little moding you can really get these trucks to run real good and beat some of that ricer *** omn the street, but anyways
When i first saw the new gen 3 r/t... i was blushing cuz i felt dodge has let me down. They should of just called it a daytona. R/T Stands for road and track, lets take that gen 3 up against a stock gen 2 on a track corse and see who flips first... lol.
dodge better read this and get the hint to do some engine work to the new gen3 r/ts. If its going to be all stickers and fake hoods then shame on them.
The only thing that they should have did with the gen 2 r/ts was stick some R/T Heads on it and give it a performace pcm instead of the towing package flash... pfft.

Well, thanks for the info. I guess I have some work to do to make this thing a real sport truck.I don't want anything outrageous. I just would like to have something closer to around 350 hp. Which really isn't all that much now a days. More than anything I want it to handle better. I want to get rid of sway as much as possible when turning and cornering. Is it hard to put in a new sway bar or should I say anti-sway bar. I realize it will never handle like a car. But I would like to stabilize it as much as possible. Are their any sway bar manufacturers that are better than other's? Of course, it will be a while before I can do any mods to this thing. But I would like to get a head start on the studying if I can. Again thank you for your help.

-Maybe if you lower it the swaying will be less because you won't be as top-heavy
-I have not seen aftermarket sway bars for our trucks, but a little Google and checking around places like autoanything.com might get you some answers.
Welcome to Dodgeforum! also, dont feel out of place, my Dakota is my second vehicle, and my first was a FWD mitsubishi galant
ooo that sounds REALLY fun! almost as much fun as trying to pull a 2,000lb dead weight out of the dirt...dug my tires about 5" into the ground trying that out...after that my friend's ram trx4 pulled it out as it was a paperweight...grrr...
