Can anyone point to something in the factory service manual that says a press of the throttle as described by the OP resets anything or engages some sort of enhanced throttle settings???
This procedure is similar to other vehicles that are supposed to "learn" your driving habits. I have it in my BMW and it does work, but the process does not make your car more "peppy". What the car is actually learning is your driving habits and it will change the shift points in your transmission to match the way you drive. For example, if you are a casual driver and do not accelerate quickly then the transmission will learn that it can shift sooner and still get you where you need to go and probably improve your gas mileage a bit. On the other hand, if you drive aggressively then the transmission will shift later so that you hold a particular gear longer before shifting. That holding of the gear longer is probably where people think they are feeling extra pep.

Exactly! By driving your D in a fashion so that it gets less gas mileage, it will reciprocate by providing you with even less! :-)

I didn't purchase this thing to be environmentally friendly or to save money. I could care less.

Fair enough. But your desire to waste, pollute, or burn money does not negate the point. ;-)

I don't believe that traction control is going to make much difference unless you are trying to light the tires and can't seem to make it happen. And it's not recommended to drive with that off anyway since if you're ever involved in an accident it will likely save your a--. What you can do is put the car in tow/haul mode. That will keep all cylinders firing, keep the rpms up, and improve overall throttle feel. You burn a lot more gas, but get what you might be looking for.

I have a 2011 rt and today I noticed that the uphill assist was turned on.
You can fill it working when you first start moving and then you fill like something lets go and the rt starts moving. I thought that this kind of made it more pepee. You can also check if the gas pedal trick works by removing the intake tube and checking if the throttle body fully opens up.
To turn off the uphill assist go to the car menu on the gage cluster and go to setting menu.
