HELP! Dealer says to "pick out whatever I want" in response to my defective 2012 Crew
You guys nailed it! They were willing to give me top dollar for my Durango and were going to offer me a 2013 Crew with Nav, Leather, ACC, Blind Spot Detection and everything else listed in my original post for $34500! Although it sounds like an awesome deal, I'd rather not have to fork out an additional $120 per month.
Still on the fence about what I'd like to do... I asked the dealer to throw in the Weathertec floor liners as well as the OEM Rear DVD package and I'd call it a day, but he has yet to get back to me. The more I think about it, the more I want the 2013. After all, it's just a hundred bucks more AND with zero miles! Sounds tempting!
And I would love an SRT8 but I need the 3rd row for the kiddos! And $60k is definitely out of my price range!
Thanks all for your input! If the dealer does throw in the Weathertecs, I will have some brand new OEM mats (front and second row) to sell. Anyone interested?

I certainly believe they will let you pick anything out and you guys will work it out.
I would interpret that as them applying your original purchase price towards the next vehicle, on which they will hopefully offer you a very good deal. They are not legally obligated to take back the first vehicle, that is the favor they are doing for you to keep you satisfied. You can't logically expect more than that, especially if they truly give you a great deal on the next vehicle.

After just reading your first post I am glad to hear the dealer was willing to try and work everything out instead of just blowing you off. Hope that when the deal is finished you are satisfied. Keep us posted please.
Thank you! Not quite sure what to do if the dealer is not able to meet my requests. I already feel like I've been ripped off, so to speak... I understand it's not the dealers fault and that **** happens, but for them to attempt to fix the issue, only to occur again, then damage my rear bumper the second time it was in the shop... it's been unsettling to say the least. I haven't been able to enjoy my new car and even worse, I'm not able to drive with confidence in its reliabilty. That was the entire reason I wanted out of my Durango. Regardless, I will keep you all posted.

I can certainly understand your frustration, especially about the reliability part. Hopefully whatever vehicle you get as a replacement will eliminate that issue.

If reliability is your concern, perhaps you should ask them for a good deal on a Chrysler extended waranty. You'll be surprise on how much money they could shave off compare to a normal purchase price.
they could give you few more year of coverage for minimal price. And it will include towing reimburstment and rental coverage.
Not to minimize your position....but it is illogical to say any vehicle is unreliable and that you have been ripped off over a faulty battery. It is unfortunate about them backing into a pole, but they were ready to make you whole by replacing the bumper.
They are going above and beyond what most dealers would do. I wouldn't be overly dramatic about the situation, but I would consider upgrading to a new one if they offered me a great deal. It is easy to begin to appear whiny and then they may lose their accommodating disposition.

Just an FYI if I read you right you are wondering if they can add a DVD system into a vehicle on their lot that does not have it? They can't. I tried that. Aftermarket also can't add it into the back of the front seat headrests due to some active restraint system.
Just bought a 2012 and had a heck of a time finding the one i wanted that had what you describe plus DVD. Sounds like a good deal. Glad to hear the dealer is making it right.

Okay boys.... so here is a quick update! First of all, thanks for all of your advice and support! I'm hoping to make a decision here soon....
Although I am fully aware that it all comes down to what I can afford, I would like to hear your thoughts on the price that I am being offered, as well as your opinions on the extended bumper to bumper warranty, also known as Maximum Care. Please note that my deductible is $150 and it was offered to me for $1895. Not sure if it matters but I am in San Diego, CA. So here goes....
The dealers is offering me this 2013 Durango Crew V6 ( http://www.carlburger.com/new/Dodge/...e5322abac4.htm ) for $33,850! I don't have the best credit and I had a BK that was discharged about 10 months ago so they got me a 4.99%. With the $5k I put down being applied to the new Durango, my payment without the Maximum Care extended warranty would be $489 per month! I do value the fact that the Maximum Care Warranty would help ease my mind about any problems that might arise after the 36k miles, however paying the extra $30 for the warranty would push the total monthly payment too far beyond my budget. I would take this deal in a heartbeat if the total WITH the extended warranty was $489, and I do know that these types of warranties are negotiable so this might be an option.
I am on the fence and the dealer is just waiting for my response. Either I keep my 2012 Crew with 23k miles which I got for $24k and enjoy my monthly payments of $380.... or fork up an extra $100 bucks or so and get the 2013.
Again, I am mainly wanting to know your thoughts on the price that is being offered for the 2013 (please click the link and check out the specs), as well as your opinions on the Maximum Care Extended Warranty. Also, the dealer showed me the invoice of $36k and some change. Is that accurate? I don't believe that's what the dealer paid since they are asking just under $38k for it, but I'm no expert.
Thanks again, guys!

Personally, budget allowing, I would go for the new vehicle since it isn't that much more. $380 vs $490. However, I don't know anything about your finances.
Keep in mind that your insurance will probably go up $10-15 more per month on the more expensive model. You might check with your insurance company to get an exact number.
