Thieves cloning key fob codes..Credible threat?
My brother emailed me that thieves can sit near your car, and when you hit the key fob to lock the door, they can catch the code out of the air. After you go in wherever you're going, they can use the code to unlock your car and steal from it. Solution is to manually lock the doors. If credible, sounds like the next step is to be able to start your car. Anyone here from Chrysler aware of this, or anyone else with first hand knowledge?

Its been out there for years. it just now making light since there was a security video of some crooks breaking into a car and no damage. they have been using this on garage doors for many many years. Most cars can also be started via laptop now days too. just with a little hacking know-how

Bottom line is that if someone really wants your car they can steal it. Watched a tow truck driver (had rear wheels in the air in 2 min) break in (slimjim) and disarm the alarm in 4 seconds on a 2006 Mercedes e55 and was back in his truck driving away. Hidden fuel pump cutoff switch is the only fail safe if it's not getting towed. You can swap it off if you get carjacked. God I seem to be a DOOMS DAY poster lately. Srry.
