Default no passenger airbag disable?

Do the Durango's have the automatic sensor for front passenger seat? I don't plan on putting any children there but I was a bit surprised if our D's don't have that feature. Most modern vehicles do.

Most Modern Trucks do! These are passenger cars...Listed in a few states as Wagons!

My 2006 Magnum had it, so I'd imagine the D does as well. I can't see them going backwards and removing safety features.

The pass airbag uses " smart technology" which determines the mass/ weight of the occupant and adjusts inflation rates based on this information during a collision. The on- off switch is deemed unnecessary since the system will not inflate with an occupant under 45 lbs. ( car seat) and has variable inflation rates above that. This is why If there is someone over 45 lbs in the seat and the seatbelt isn't connected you will get the light and chime warning.

right i assumed as much (that it is auto-sensing) however, I don't see any light indicator that states the airbag is off.

I believe it is off until you put the 45lbs then the passenger seat belt light will come on to alert you .

Yep^ it will not deploy in an accident unless 45lbs+ is present.
