Default Holy catch can

Wow installed this at around 2000 miles and at 2197 I pulled it off to take a look. For that few miles I was surprised at the amt of oil already collected. Would be my first mod if I started over. If I was thinking of buying a new D I would order this prior lol

Gqjeff...curious...in the 200-odd miles you drove with the can, were you heavy on the gas, i.e. a lot of acceleration? I know that in my old GTO, I get oil splatter on the valve cover from the oil fill cap when I have been tromping on it. According to the service manual, the drop in vacuum when the throttle is wide open causes the crankcase fume circulation to reverse, forcing oil out the cap......

My Guess would be ...He drove it like he stole it!
No harm in that either!

Seems to be a lot of oil in 200 miles if just avg acceleration from traffic lts, etc. Looks to be about an ounce. 3000 miles/200 = 15 ounces or almost a 1/2 quart. If you don't have a catch can, where does it go?

Ya a little bummed with the amt of oil in it. I don't plan on 3k oil changes with the new oils, I don't feel it's needed. I was hoping to go 5k or so on them but like you said I would lose nearly a dang quart.

Don't sweat too soon. Get an accurate cold read on the dipstick and then keep an eye on it. With only 2.2k on the clock, things are still "seating"....
