The update for Nav maps would be great, for the $150 my dealer wants I can get a really nice Garmin.. Garmin's World HQ is 5 miles from my home and I know several employees who get discounts.

You should have an RER or RHR sales code...2.126 should be an RHR so check this page out:

http://mygig-disk.com/download-rhr.php

Your instructions and downloads are about half way down the page under MyGig Updates. The trick is to use the Express Burn software to burn the iso files on to your disc's. You can't just move them to the disc as a file, they need to be burned in iso format! The page I linked above has a link for Express Burn as well...it's a free trial and completely safe. I just went through this last weekend and had no problems!

Also, if it isn't clear, be sure to burn the iso's on 2 different discs and label them. You must update the radio in steps! You can't just update to the latest software, it will brick your system!
I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. When I download the 2136, it's 2.2 GB. When I goto ExpressBurn to "write ISO image to Disc"....it says it's too big for CD-R.
I can use DVD-R, that's over 4GB capacity, but not sure DD radio will read a DVD.

Help ????

The link in the Quote above, MyGigs???
This was what he said I need for my Radio, RHR.
It's not the 30 and 50 that the others are using....when I downloaded those they were 120MB, but I don't think I can use them.

RHR-RHW-RHP.2.136.iso

Damn,
It burned to the DVD-R, and the radio recognized it, but it didn't work.
This is what came up on the radio.....

"Software Update for APPLICATION
Wrong disc for software update
Software update operation aborted"

OK,
I got it to work, DVD-R, it took both 2.136 and 2.184 updates.
System Settings confirmed I'm at 2.184.
BUT
My radio is still BLUE, and I don't see any improvement in sound.
Is there a newer update ?
I have RHR.

Chris
I read through the other thread, there's nothing there but guys saying it was a success.
Everyone seems to be doing the 30/50 update with different radios than my 13 has.
I don't understand why I have a different radio than everyone else.

You're suggesting running the updates again ? Going back to the 2136, and then the 2184 ? I suppose I could, I have the Discs, just seems like a huge long shot.'

Has anyone done this successfully with a RHR radio ?

Look for this guy '"*Sox* on the Jeep forum, he seems to know all the radios, maybe he can help?

".....Yes it needs to be unpacked. From everything I have read on the Jeep website with *Sox*, you should update the Garmin first then update. Or if you don't have the updates, download both the 33 file and the 50 file and if need be, "downgrade" to 33, update, then go back to 50."
