Why would anyone want to waste their time?

Your apology does NOTHING to resolve the real problem.

The "T36 Recall" and all the issues concerning the recall and dealing with FCA AND FCA dealerships.

Here you go. Apology not needed. Just take this as a chance to learn something new. Have a good day.

We still don't know what we're talking about, jimdurt.

- FCA still won't replace parts associated with this failure.
- There's still a magical "30 minute reserve" when the alternator fails, you'll be fine.
- It's the owner's fault. Always.
- We need FCA and their awesome techs to protect us from ourselves.
- This recall is stupid

Maybe we should "Google it" again...

jimdurt. You posted it. I stand corrected. I apologize, pcm required.

prospect62. All the fuss and in the end, never even needed a repair or had a issue to in the first place. Sound about right?

Well this escalated quickly. Thread currently being monitored. Take it to PM's if you feel the need to keep bashing one another.

100% correct. I've been fighting this fight on 3 or 4 different forums since September because I didn't feel FCA was handling this appropriately. Because of my efforts in putting things together, learning as much as possible about this and sharing it with others, I'd like to think I've helped more than a few people understand the issue and helped them avoid paying out of pocket for repairs that were associated with a faulty alternator (as proven above). Remedies they never would have gotten from FCA had they not ASKED. I also think I've helped raise awareness about how dangerous this failure can be when it happens and that it (the recall) should not be ignored. All the while, I waited for the failure to actually happen to me on pins and needles but...it never happened.

Unfortunately, in the end, turns out my alternator isn't even covered by the recall. I still don't buy it that somehow, magically, my alternator came off the line "A-OK" but the one in front of it and the one behind it didn't. I still believe that this is a half-baked bean counting measure by FCA. Call me a conspiracy theorist if you must. But, since I haven't had a failure and FCA says I won't, I have to abide that.

The end. Sorry if anything I said was offensive. And here's my formal F-you from FCA in case anyone wants a laugh...

As I stated in my last post, I will have my DD in soon to have the alternator inspected/fixed. I see now that it may pass the test they do to it either visually or electronically and be sent on my way with the seed of doubt planted that it may fail in the future per the original recall description. Will FCA stand behind it then or extend the warranty on the alternator as they have done on the cylinder issue and brake booster issue? I hope others reading this forum will report the outcome of their recall fix so we get a feel for if their "recalled" alternator passed the test or was replaced.
