I say make your own, it's too damn easy to get pipe and a filter. I went to a local plumbing company and asked for some scrap 4 inch pvc then swung by o'reillys and bought a cheap spectre filter, my CAI cost a little over $27.00

I just wipe the pre-filter down with a soft cloth every once in a while, but hell, if it ever gets bad dirty, I believe you can throw it in the washer and dryer...

Hammer,

Is that CAI the 57 or the 77? I'm looking to pick one up here pretty soon.

You guys who are buying them off ebay, can you please post a link to the buyer and share your experiences. I refuse to pay $300-400 for a plastic tube and gauze filter. However, alot of the ebay knock-offs don't come with a heat sheild. The filter sits directly above the ex. manifold.

So....I'm caught in the middle here

It's a 77. If I was you I'd go w/ the mopar knockoff shown here http://cpwstore.carpartswholesale.co...S-V218205.html and replace the filter w/ a dryflow or volant powercore. It's only 70 for the intake which can be found under the names kool vue, bombz, or velocity. You should be able to find one for the hemi either at carparts or autopartswarehouse, and if not you'll just need a different coupler which you can get at lowes or homedepot. The only problem w/ these intakes is the mounting bracket on the filter end may eventually break off so you might have to fab up your own mount.

I have the Air Raid CAI. Only reason I went with it is because it works with my Ram Air twin scoop hood. Otherwise I would have went with K&N.

I've been looking into a CAI for my truck, and like K&N ones the most. Question I have is, which one if better, the 57 or the 77? Here is the 57 http://www.knfilters.com/search/prod...x?Prod=57-1533 and here is the 77 http://www.knfilters.com/search/prod...Prod=77-1533KP . Seems like the 57 gives a larger horsepower gain, but it really seems like there isn't much difference between them. Should I just get whichever one I can get a better price on, or is there something I am missing here?

Would this Velocity work in a 2007 4.7? According to the site it only works in a 2004. Is there any diffrence between my 07 and the 04 intakes?

I think I'm gonna buy a k&n when I do.
Anyone actually notice a difference in hp gain between the 57 or the 77?
