I used 3" diameter PVC, used regular PVC cement to seal the joints. I had planned on buying an Amsoil filter to put on it, but I ended up leaving my K&N 3 1/2" clamp on. Fits perfect, works and sounds great. I'm actually planning on buying a couple better permanent brackets to put on it today, I'll put an updated picture up once I get it done.

The heat issue has been discussed many times. Honestly only time will tell. Schedule 40 is rated for 140 degree liquid to run through it, air temps can probably be a little higher. So far my CAI has only seen a 90 degree day, and the Intake Air Temp reached around 105 (According to my Edge programmer). As long as my intake air temp doesn't get above 150, I'm not going to worry, right now it's solid, still looks good, and doing it's job...

****EDIT****
After talking about my intake for awhile now, and looking at the horrid pictures of it, I've finally finished it up. No more Zip-Ties, and some nice paint:

i just PM'ed you before i saw this. looks amazing! whered u get the brackets for it?

I've got to touch up the inner lip but I think it came out pretty good.

how much was this set up?

Default Afe stage 1 install.

Haven't seen the full results of the intake. Only have a couple of weeks for leave. Will postage a later time. Looks nice though.

I have an '03 4.7 and it was located in the air box that sits on the throttle body, on the back side.
