well, i have an ebay cold air intake, had one before on my trans-am too. personally i think theyre the best mod for the money, i mean it was 50 for the trans am, and it had like 3 or 4 foot of tubing to a really good place for an intake. the dakota cost 30 bux.

obviously the costlier ones cosmetically look better nad might have a slight difference in performance, i highly doubt ud feel seat of the pants difference. i don't even know if i did have the money if i would buy the expensive ones, maybe?!?! i don't care too much about engine cosmetics.

Heat has never been a problem with mine. The dual filter set-up is over 2 years old. It provided noticeable gains over the stock unit regardless of the heat issue. It simply flow's more air with the shorter tubes and extra filter. Saved money too by home-brewing.

The Air temp sensor is right in the middle of the 90 degree fitting, just drilled a hole and rtv sealant! I removed the hose you are talking about and installed a minifilter on the end of the little pre-bent hose.

Wow. Nice work MOPAR78. Mine is not so pretty, but it seems to work. I did the homebrew route and am using an AMSOIL filter inside the factory box. I may redo it sometime this year, if I get around to it... It does sound much better than stock when I drop the hammer. MPG change? I don't know, as I did this shortly after getting the truck.

I have recently got a K&n cold air intake 63 series Id like to know other peoples result with this one or other K&N intakes. I hav a flowmaster dual exhaust as only mod. How has cai changed your truck

Pretty much all the cold air intakes give you 8-10 hp and better throttle response as long as they eliminate the stock tubing to the throttle body.
