Superchips Questions and Updates
Yeah well after being on hold for 22 minutes.
I finaly got ahold of tech at Superchips. He said the exact same thing as Sil just said. He told me to take a staight edge and put it on top of the tire and measure the distance from the ground to top of tire and enter that measurment in the tuner.
He said the 31.5" is just a measurment that the tuner comes with as a rough startng point.

it comes with the 31.5" because that's what the stock tire size is on NON 20" rims.
Joe,
Seems like we have similar vices. I also have a 03 Ram 1500 5.7, K&N CAI and flowmaster dual exhaust and I'm using the SC3865 91 octane advance tune. This has been the best spent money yet. It has really waken the truck up and the mileage has also improved. I'm running 285/50-20 (30.5") tires and the only down side is I can't get it out of the hole without a lot of wheel spin. Next mod will be a 3:92 gear with posi. The truck is serious fun.

the powers that be understand that this is an open forum and support free speech, even when it's useless comments that don't help anybody.

My truck has always gotten pretty good mileage. I don't have complete numbers but before installing the SC with 31.5 tires I would get 16-17 mpg on the highway. With the SC installed with 30.5 tires it is getting 17.4-18.8 mpg. On the same old back road I use to play on the tire spin is the problem. Before I would pull up rpm a little and let it go and get about 15-20 feet of spin and then it would hook and go. Now if I do the same roll out I get too much spin wasting time in hooking up. The launch has become very critical with rpm release and surface traction. It needs a posi for a stronger more consistant launch. I plan on installing a 3:92 limited slip in the future. I hope that helps
