Finally got through a full tank of gas this morning since installing the DSP, 16.2mpg hand calc., usually for summer time mpg I see in the 14's with the SC so I am pleased to say the least.

Question

I'm still waiting on my DSP to get here.... but i have a question about the DSP. If I wanted to eliminate my cats (hypothedically speaking lol), is there a way to use the DSP to disable that particular "check engine" function? I know if I just cut em out that I'll always have a "P" code showing with the light. Or just maybe someone here might know something I don't HaHa! Thanks

Their older DSP's do it on different models but now you have to get a custom tune with the rear o2's deleted. On my maro I had the user option to delete rear o2's, EGR and A.I.R.

i've found a shop here that does custom tunes but how will that effect my dsp? I just spent nearly $400 for that so will it confuse th dsp if i have the local speed shop go in and remove thoses smog O2 sensors?

Bullet because you have an 05' I would strongly strongly suggest that you do the switch anyways even if they are planning on releasing the TQ Management for the 3815 as well in the next few years and who knows what exactly it will do for it either. By doing the partial shifts available for the 05 and 06 model years it feels so much better than the SC. Add that in with the boost in mpg and I cant begin to tell you how much better things are.

can someone explain the "partail shifts"? That sounds pretty nasty on the inerds of the tranny. sounds like it would create a ton of heat and well thats not always good.

You would think that but no, they actually make the shifts alot smoother and quicker during normal driving. Basically the 05 and I believe the 06 models have partial upshifts and partial down shifts which allows you to control how the truck shifts under partial throttle. I wish I could explain it a little more in detail as to what it does but what I do know is that with the partial shifts set on my truck it feels much much better than just what thier canned tune's shifts feel.

The only thing you want to remember while setting them though is to not go to high on either end or it will make for a very jerky and bad ride. I'll post up what I have mine set to in a while.
