Hughes Intake Maniflod for 5.9, Opinions please
Has anyone upgraded to the Hughes intake manifold on there 5.9? I was talking to Hughes about it and I know it eliminates the plenum but I am not sure if the extra 400 bucks is worth it. Here is a link if anyone is intersted in checking it out. Thanks

I will let you know how it works, I ended up ordering one. I plan on installing it next weekend. I am hoping to pick up some power when accelerating on to the interstate. They also claim mpg gain. I'll let you know how the install goes. I am hoping to remember to take good pictures.

That intake is badass! I run it, you'll like it. Wrote a thread about it in the 2nd gen section, when a few guys asked about it:

It'll change the whole tone of your truck's engine sound, can't explain it exactly, but you'll have a hard time keeping your foot out of it, so no MPG gain there. you'll have no trouble passing, but if you throw some headers on, it'll be even better.

follow steve's guide for plenum gasket repair in the second gen section. Give yourself 8 hours if you've never dug into the engine before, as you'll need to label parts, bolts and other stuff.
2 things,
1. Definitely take the time to remove the front tab on the thermostat housing. a new t stat would be cheap insurance.
2. there's no better time to replace the cap and rotor than when the intake is off. do it!
