BLEACH in gas tank!!!
Man that does suck. About two years ago a gang banger used my truck for cover while another shot at him. The truck got hit a couple of times and I was pissed.
The bleach thing really didn't pick up until after mythbusters showed how it could totally corrode a fuel system in a few days.

I agree, I'm surprised they haven't blown themselves up before now. I am sure there is a special place for people who have nothing better to do in life than vandalize other folks property.
I agree about the TV non-sense. Friggin NBC and everyone does it about explaining how easy it would be for terrorists to bomb certain places such as XXX, XXX and XXX, because all they would have to do is XXX. I seen something like that a few years back and was like WTF? Are they trying to help the convicts?
I would def get a locking gas cap if I was parked on or near a street. Luckily my driveway is back off a ded end street and around the side of my house. Only thing that sucks is clearing all the snow cuz it's like 1,000yds worth....lol
I suppose that should be ext on the list since I fuel up like once a month anyways.

Yeah, I saw on our local news a story about how bleach in the gas tank got "popular" in the Orlando area right after that Mythbusters segment aired. Interviewed a local cop who had NEVER heard of a report of bleach used in the gas tank in his 13 years on the force before the segment and he alone had filled out four reports in the two weeks after it.
Thanks Mythbusters, like these idiots out there need more ideas...

For the insurance to kick in you may need to have a police report. I would call the local law enforcement agency and have them write up a vandalism report and get a report from the shop as well and submit it to your insurance company.
Here's a story about locking gas caps. I put one on both my truck and Jeep back when gas was $4.50 per gallon in Florida (false hope). Went hunting in the Jeep one weekend and forgot the key because I lightened my key chain and forgot to put it back on (stupid). Figuring I was screwed, I took a flat screwdriver and put it in the keyhole and turned. The cap popped right off. Scary thing is the cap worked fine after that with the key. Moral of the story is ******** will mess with or steal your stuff because they are just ********. My .45 and 100lb pitbull help deter some of it though. LOL
I have been Navy Police since 1994 and Civilian Police Officer since 1998. I still volunteer as a Reserve Police Officer from place to place. I posted up the mythbusters story because I never once received a report of bleach in gas until the story aired. This makes the sixth case I've heard of it since.
If you read the article this stuff is super dangerous. Not only does it oxydize the fuel system and tank, if not caught fast enough it will take out the pistons, cylinders walls and all.
