I thought I posted this last month when I did it, but I guess it slipped my mind. Got my 2008 ram 1500 payed off in 22 months, 2 months earlier than I was supposed to. Feels good to not have a payment anymore. Only took about 2 weeks to get the title released from Chrysler Financial and sent from tha CA DMV. Now i can take that payment money and roll it into upgrades. Lol

I forgot some details. I bought the truck during the death of chrysler back in sept '08. The dealership had four hemi rams on sale for 50% off. My dad saw the add in the paper while he was at the coffee shop (old farmer) and he called me about it. An hour later we were there and I checked one out took it for a drive and I bought it about 2 hours later for around 22k (don't remember exactly). The sticker says 37k. The deal was it was a '08 model but the dealer got it at the tail end of '07 so it had been sitting on there lot for almost a year. And I think they had to pay off the loan to chrysler since they were hurting for money then so they were willing to dump it. I'm sure it helped get people in the door to. I heard about these kinds of sales all over the country back then. I wonder if anyone else got there Ram like that.

I too have got that great feeling of a paid off truck as of this month...the catch....all i had to do is get it stuck on the beach flood the under side of the engine bay roughly to the oil pan, have the insurance company total it, pay off the loan and give me $4,000 cash, buy it back for $2,500, stick $3,200 into fixing it, and now after that long winded explanation it is paid off. I don't suggest this route, but the end result is nice!
