Talking New mod .... Steering Stabilizers ..... on a 2 wheel drive!

So I finally got around to building stabilizer brackets and installing them. No more steering wheel jerking when hitting rail road tracks and pot holes!

Brackets were pretty simple....bracket on each tie rod end, bolted on with u-bolts from tractor supply. Then built 2 L shaped brackets that bolt on with the cross member bolts. The shocks are rough country 8000's...old shocks that i used when I just had a leveling kit. Works like a dream!

Interesting. Does that add any stiffness to the power steering? I wonder if that added pressure or restriction would hurt the pump.

it does a bit when sitting still and just turning. But as for driving and turning you cant really tell any stiffness at all....or course it cant be any worse than stock parts turning 37s either. Keeps it from slamming the rack and pinion from side to side at least.

For sure, or make some more of the brackets. I would buy a set. I need this shaky wheel to go bye bye. And some pics of your truck. Sounds pretty bad ***.

theyre make out of 3/8's steel...havent had one problem out of them. My welder gave out on me a few weeks ago (stupid spool motor went out), but I know a few people that will let me use theirs to weld up a couple sets of these.

hmm thats pretty ingenuitive. Only addition I have to it is the resistance of the shock. If you could find low resistance shocks I bet it would put less strain on the rack

I think Id be interested but how would that work with us all having different lifts

The shocks I used are pretty wore out honestly....I didn't buy new ones because I was thinking the same thing. I haven't had an issue with the power steering straining with these shocks.

That's the only issue im thinking of...different lifts would require it to be mounted different. The only adjustment that can be made is on the tie rod...you can mount it on the top bottom or side.
