Help choosing new tires
hey guys i am looking to buy some new tires prob wil not be until the fall i have to save the $. i have 20" wheels now but just bought 17" stockers. i am looking for a good mud terrain but will consider and all season. i know this sounds stupid but the look means a lot to me and also performance. most of my driving is highway and understand that i will have a louder tire etc. want an aggresive look. have looked at dine grapplers, trail grapplers cooper discoverer Radial STT TEK3 and goodyear mt/r's also want the to be good performing in the snow. will be getting 33" any advice and or pictures would be great thanks mike

Mud terrain type looks but All Terrain type performance then you want to look at a M/T - A/T hybrid. These tires are more aggressive than an A/T, but at the same time tend to handle better on the highway and don't get chewed up nearly as fast on pavement like a true mud tire would.
Top choices here would be the Cepek FCII, the Nitto Trail Grappler or the Interco M16. Toyo Open Country M/Ts are not really designated as a hybrid, but they tend to perform like one, so look at those as well.
I bought the FCIIs because I use my truck mostly to travel from central FL. to my farm property in south Ga. I needed a tire that would be good on the 360 mile mostly highway trip to get there, but then be able to work around the farm, hunt, fish and play hard when I got there.
These tires do not disappoint. 31k miles on them and they are just now starting to show the first signs of wear and they hang with all but the most aggressive M/Ts in the mud and on the trails. Based on the little bit of wear on them now, I'm estimating I'll easily see 60k out of them if not a bit more.
The only negative on these tires I can really say is that they are loud, not like Nitto Mud Grappler, Baja Claw or Bogger loud, but certainly louder than your average A/T tire...

my old man just got a set of the cooper A/T3's put on his truck.. absolutely gorgeous tire. I drove the truck around a bit and they are great. wet weather traction is fantastic and no road noise at all.
I'm planning on putting a set on my truck here shortly but with the 20" rims they are running roughly 350 for each tire so 1400 bucks total.. little steep for me at the moment but I'll need them before winter gets here because the wrangler HP's the truck came with are shot
