Default New and stock and looking for advise

I bought an 06 2500 with 96000 miles, the truck belonged to a jeep dealership owners son,(got all that). Anyway I had a ford 6.0 and tinkered with that and had nothing but problems. Carfax says this thing has had all the servicing and what not but im a diesel junkie and want to know the first most important step to take before I unleash the beast, it has a 4 inch mufflered exaust and thats pretty much it,,,she sure does sound pretty though.

Man, you scored a hell of a truck. I've got an 06 as well and it is a pulling machine!

If all the required maintenance has been done, you are likely good to go..

Just make sure you put the oily fuel in! Don't be givin that truck gas!

My brother puts in 1 litre of 2 stroke oil for every tank of diesel...lubs the injection pump, but I think his is different from yours (his is 01) I think his is a vp44.

Is the 06 common rail? Do they still have troubles with lift pumps?

Does that recent of 5.9 still need the dowel pin tabbed?
