2005 dodge sits higher than most trucks?
Hi!
Finally bought my pickup truck! A nice Ram 1500 Laramie Quad cab 2005! Really love it so far!
Is it an illusion or every Chevy, F150 and even newer dodge 1500 I met all sits much lower than my 2005?
Tires are stock 265-65r-17 and suspension is all stock.
Anyway, I love driving higher than everyone else (except semi trucks)

It could just be an illusion, but I think that the '09+ definitely sit lower (talking 4WD's here), to the point that I can't tell which is 4WD and which are 2WD. I do think that the 3rd gen 4x4 Rams sit pretty high. Maybe not exceptionally high, but definitely noticeable.
That said, My old '98 2WD Ford Ranger had significantly more ground clearance than my sister's '00 4WD S-10. My stock '02 4WD Tacoma put them both to shame, and I think the 2WD Tacoma had the same ground clearance.

Between my 2002 and my dads 2004 mine actually feels bigger for some reason, but they are basically the same truck....almost.
When driving mine I sit pretty high, I'm fairly certain suspension is stock but someone put 20" rims on it. My dads also has 20" rims and same size tires.
In the cab it feels larger for some reason too. Even with the seat all the way back and everything adjusted my dads feels like everything is too close.
I love it though, my truck is a giant. I'm a pretty sizable human, and when a vehicle makes me look and feel small, well, it's done it's job.
