Default Anybody know of a good bowtie truck forum?

I've had my RAM since it came off the dealer's lot and I still love it. But I've been mod'ing it for my son and he'll be driving it soon. I can't swing a brand new vehicle for myself right away and it turns out that my father needs to get rid of his 2003 Chevy 1500HD, and he'll make me a deal that's too good to pass up. I know where it has been and it only has 90k on it and I don't think it has ever been off-road. I know most of us love our Dodges but we haven't always driven them. So, I'm wondering if there are any former bowtie owners here that might know of a good forum that is as active and useful as this in is and has been for me?

In case it's a problem to post links to other forum sites on here, feel free to pm them to me if you have a recommendation.

I'd love to say I'm going out to be a new RAM, because I would if I could - but insurance on 2 teenage drivers, with one in college, is a killer.

Also cool that your boy gets to start off with a sick ram. My truck is the first and only that I have ever owned.

How the heck does "good bowtie truck" fit anywhere? I have a co-worker who bought the only good one they made in '95. I bought one of their standard POS models in '88.

I'm assuming since it's a 1500HD it has nice big 8.1L which means lots o gasoline for you lol. But I heard it's a great engine. I'm sure there's a special forum for those guys. Just search around. That's how I found this great forum

The forum recommended above appears to be fine, thanks. The truck has a 6.0 gasser in it but the mileage still sucks compared to my ram. But i am getting a steal on it from my dad and the money i save will buy a lot of gas. If i were just looking any ole used truck, i would be favoring another ram, believe me. I have never owned and enjoyed any other vehicle i have had as much or as long as my ram. Thats why i am handing it down.

You can't kill the 80's GMC Sierras, it seems. That truck takes a ****kicking and keeps on ticking. My neighbor has one with 450,000 kilometers on it. And it runs really nice.

My (currently 12 year old) daughter's first vehicle is going to be this truck, as long as it is still on the road when she starts driving. Her little heart is going to be broken when she doesn't get that pink Ferrari she has her mind set on... :P I've my truck since new and taken pretty good care of it. Besides, the way I figure it the prohibitive cost of fuel for a new driver will keep her off the road unnecessarily...

To be fair I don't think you can claim "longest lasting truck on the road" without some credibility behind it. I know I see alot more old GM/Chevy trucks then I do any other brand. My roommate has a 98 Sierra that's still running strong.
