Default ram 1500 with 2500 wheels?

im looking for a much different look for my truck.

curently on my truck are the stock 17 inch steelie type wheels(5 lug)

but im looking to upgrade to the 2500's 8 lug wheel...but, i have absolutely no reason to upgrade my axles. i just want the wheels.

i know there are different 5 to 8 lug adapters but are they really a decent idea? and can you recomend any?

thanks

You really like the wheels that much or are you shooting for a feaux heavy duty where you have 8 lugs and debadge or rebadge everything to look like a 2500? I'm not that familiar with adapters but wouldn't they make the wheels stick out a little like a spacer? Or do they work differently?

Everybody has their own likes. Just seems odd that out of all the wheels out there, new and used, you'd pick the ones off a stock 2500, unless you just wanted to give the appearance that you are driving a 2500.

Or why you would bother trying to make 8 lugs fit on a 5 lug when there are literally 100s and 100s of aftermarket wheels for our 5 lugs

i guess to clear up some of the confusion. yes they will work as spacers too. but, i dont plan on turning my 1500 into a 2500. i would love a diesel as much as the next guy but i have no need for one.

im going for a stock-like look, not really a custom designed truck. iv just always loved the look of those heavy duty wheels, with some more aggressive tires and a small lift.

i cant be the only one that thinks that looks cool.

I think it looks cool on a truck with cab lights, a 2500 badge, and smoke blowing out of the tail pipe. Doesn't matter what we like, it's what you like that matters. But you may very well be the only one here that has done it. I didn't even know you could get an adapter to run 8 bolt wheels on a 5 lug truck.

I really like those wheels as well, but am afraid to use a 5-8 lug adapter. If they made that wheel in 5 lug, I'd get it for sure. I don't too much care for the stock 1500 17's, and aftermarket wheels cost more than I'd like to drop down right now.

Crager soft 8s go for less than 100 a wheel in 17s. It's a nice simple look imo

The soft 8's are basically what I have. My truck is sitting on the stock 17" steelies painted black with a silver center cap. But I mean iv seen the adapters on amazon and what not but I don't buy parts from there.

I'm sorry but you can't compare the soft 8s to the steelies lol. The soft 8s look way better IMO. But either way I don't think it's worth it to get the adapters just to get a set of stock wheels. I just don't think it's a safe route for the truck.
