What I generally do on a caliper that doesn't want to get fluid, I have a second warm body, park them in the drivers seat, have them pump the pedal, while I crack the bleeder valve open a bit, and just hold my finger over the end of it, so it can't suck air. (if these are relatively new calipers, some teflon tape around the bleeder screw threads is a good idea. )

Just saying, I have a mityvac and think it sucks. ..... It never did work right for me and thought it was a waste of $$ .... then I pulled it out of the drawer to try to use it .... the back of the gauge was cracked as if it froze and cracked ...... I do not understand how brake fluid will freeze and crack ..... possibly it was always cracked and just got worse?

Anyways I have talked to others and they never had good luck with them either ..... I use my wife to work the pedal when it is time to bleed brakes .... she knows the routine, 3 pumps and hold it.

I had one of the cheap plastic versions, and used it for years. Worked pretty good, if I could get all my connections to seal up.

As far as vacuum it works great. I don't remember if the gauges is inches of water or mercury but I can pump that all the way around to max 25 or 30? soon as I crack the bleeder is drops to zero and I cant pull 5, tighten the bleeder it pumps up again. I don't think there's any issues with the mighty vac, its something in the system. What's funny is the first time I left the front cylinders loose and bled the rear axle, passenger then driver. Both front calipers were running fluid by gravity, I thought sure it would be a couple pumps to get the last bubble and close it up.

In this situation having the master loose is different for me. Just changing calipers by myself its never failed to gravity bleed the calipers if they're empty. Pump the pedal a few times myself and run around and crack, pump crack repeat, 2 or 3 repetitions of this on my own 100% success rate on bleeding brakes.

Well finally got this exhaust installed, been in the shed for 6 months maybe? WWP brand from ebay, i have to say the fitment and quality was amazing, no cutting needed for my long wheel base (besides old exhaust removal). Not fan of the black tips but they'll be fine for now. Nice deep mellow sound, didn't get out for a road test yet just a few test revs in the garage. I was hoping it would be a little louder, but down the road after more engine work, shorties, maybe a different cat system, it will be louder. Its a straight through muffler design with packing, just surprised it was so soft. Maybe after a few heat cycles it'll burn out some fluff. I can already feel the lost mpgs in my wallet

Wow! Makes me want to give it a try .... I have been fighting brakes for awhile . First time I bled them it was fine .... then I imitated a panic stop and the MC failed.
Then I converted to a 2 stage MC and it was fine .... but I needed some new fittings so it would not leak.
Now I have all the proper fittings, 3rd time is a charm .... I really believe they will bleed out fine and be done with brakes .... My wife will have to sit on a 5 gallon bucket to pump the pedal while I bleed them.
I have been holding off on bleeding the brakes for a 3rd time til I get the seats back in
I do have a new mighty vac though .... wonder if this one would actually work?

Well I got the propane kit removed from the junk truck I bought. Had a conversation with the guys a technocarb about swapping it over to the 06. Sounds like it should be pretty cut and dry, might have to do some tuning after installing.

Well we can blow the cob webs out of this thread. I scored two matching rust free fenders so I can attack the bad cancer spots on the front of this thing, pics when completed. He had a box too but it wasn't much better than mine in overall, all rust could be hidden with flares for a short term solution but with other projects in the works I didn't feel it was worth it. Fortunately my cab is rock solid with maybe some minor surface starting on the doors. hopefully i can address that before its a problem. need to try ditching the chrome paneling and see what a disaster it is, might need to find doors yet.

Ordered the needed parts to install the propane conversion.

Also made a deal on a long box frame, so could be another MCLB in my driveway this winter.

Yea the lower rail inside seems good yet, I think its primarly rock damage taking its toll after 20 years, these side bars do little to protect the cab, ill find something better after this project is more towards completed, if it end up painting it then after that, surprisingly this is a hard color to locate replacement used pieces
