Default dont buy gas on may 15th

In April 1997, there was a "gas out" conducted nationwide in protest of gas prices. Gasoline prices dropped 30 cents a gallon overnight.

On May 15th 2007, all myspace members are to not go to a gas station in protest of high gas prices. Gas is now over $3.00 a gallon in most places.

There are 73,000,000+ American members currently on the myspace network, and the average car takes about 30 to 40 dollars to fill up.

If all myspace members did not go to the pump on the 15th, it would take $2,200,000,000.00 (that's BILLION) out of the oil companys pockets for just one day, so please do not go to the gas station on May 15th and lets try to put a dent in the Middle Eastern oil industry for at least one day.

If you agree (which I cant see why you wouldnt) repost this

These gas prices are out of control, someone (You & I) need to stop the oil companys from robbing us so don't buy gas on May 15th!!!

1. This is years old and been floating around the net.

2. This will hurt gas prices as it will cause spikes in usage on the day before and after, resulting in the price of oil going up. You are not changing the amount used, just when bought and spikes make people who trade oil very nervous, which will raise prices 1-2 dollars a barrel in a day!

You would have to stop driving for a week to make prices fall drastically.

This is idea is not thought out and verySTUPID!

Gee... I wish it only took me 30-40 dollars to fill up.... I gladly pay that.. instead of the 60-80 dollars... But even tho... for the companys to lose that much money in one day is unrealistic... Cars don't fill up everyday... well most of us don't...

if my truck only took $30-40 to fill up, then either it's 1997 when gas prices were like $0.89/gallon or i only have half a tank in my truck lol..........but yeah it's not gonna make much sense to not fill up on 1 day, these guys have enough money that one day isnt gonna make a whole lot of difference......go a week or two however then ya might get something accomplished, but i dont know anyone that can drive their truck for a full 2 weeks let alone a week without having to fill up
