Default Naked chick-pics inside...

Well....now that I got all you pervert's attention.....can someone spot me some help??

I posted up once before about a "squeeling" under the hood of my truck. The dealer replaced both idler pullies, and the belt, but it still makes noise. It sounds as if a bearing is squeeling and it does it at random times.

The best way to explain it, is if there was a vacuum leak, and it doesn't do it at idle, but off idle, then stops as you start accelerating harder.

No play or roughness in any accessories. (took belt off)
May not do it for a week, then does it 5 days in a row.
Not effected by a/c being off or on.
Not effected by anything other then possibly ambient temp.
Started truck and held clutch fan. No irregularities...

Just looking for some clue, or direction to go in here. I took the entire air intake off this weekend, up to the throttlebodies and loooked for leaks, cracks or imperfections that might make a squeeling noise....

Like I said, it sounds as if it's sucking air, yet a vacuum leak that big would produce/trigger a code. Both my dealership and myself have spent countless time listening to it and checking things with a stethescope, listening for anything that may be making the noise and .....nothing.

I'm willing to bet I have 10 hours in playing with it, to no avail.

I should just hang a fat CAI on it and drown out the noise.........

Appreciation in advance.

Just so it is not false advertisement.

Oh as for your issue, that one will be hard to determine without some audio.

Check your airbox and all the connections to it for any small pin holes or cracks in any of the linesand make sureboth the lid and the filter areseated correctly. Also check your exhaust connections for any leaks as well. After that check the alternator, fan clutch, and the ac compressor/clutch. Thats about all I can think of for nowthat would be causing a "squeeling" noise under the hood.

Not only check them, but replaced BOTH idler pully andthe tensioner pully with assembly.

I've checked all air intake parts with a fine comb. I'm at wits end.

I've worked as a mechanic the first half of my life before changing hats. I was the guy that fixed all the stuff that people brought in, telling us, "I've had this to 4 shops before YOU..." I have certs through GM, Dodge and Ford. I still consult to a few private shops when they have problemed vehicles.

I've always made good and found the problem. This has got me stumped.......

I'm convinced it's harmless, but just annoying. I'm not sure about you guys, but I know there are a few of you that HAVE to be just like me, and lose sleep when stupid things like this crop up, and our vehicles aren't running perfect.....[:@]

Is there anything that might be loose enough to fall into the belt/pulley area and then back out? I'm not sure if that makes any sense. But for example say a bracket orclip just close enough to (under the right conditions) make contact with the belt or pulley?

And you are right if the dealer hooked it up, it would be out of tolerance if it were a vacuum leak. At least I would think so.
