Default How much weight for snow ?
I have a 2003 Ram 1500 2wd, have 17 in rims with new BFGoodrich AT tires, my question is how much weight do i want to put in the bed? Plenty of snow days here in Ohio

At least 2 50# bags of sand over each wheel well. I use 4 because I have a RCSB w/ tow pkg. so I'm light on the rear wheels. You've got good tires to never had a problem last winter with my BFG's.

when i had my 02 4x4 QC i had about 600lbs in the back right over the rear axle...but i would say 200 total would be good, but i'd rather have more lol

Make sure to use sand bags. This way you have something with traction if you need it. Red

I cant remember who said it before, but they talked about five gallon buckets w/ water. Then if you dont need the weight you can just dump the water out and be done... Hope this helps.

Thats a good idea, except if I don't need the weight I will need a hammer to get the ice out of my bucket

they sell tubular 70 lb bags of sand at your local hardware store. about 2.50 each. get two and put them over each wheel well and you should be fine.

I use to put about 300 lbs of sand (in the bag's of course) over the rear axle. Never had any problems.
