im just about done wiring up the truck, but im just wondering where u guys put em. doesnt look like theres enough room behind the back seats and i cant even figure out how the hell to take em off yet

lol for a megacab? itll be a while. i have the backseat out right now, and there is hardly any room. id have to take out the foam padding out to fit anything. and then the bare metal would be exposed. doesnt seem like a good idea with all the power wiring and connections back there.
I haven't installed my amps yet, but a quick test looks like they would fit under the rear seat in the area between the seat cushion and the seat back. I am talking about the area where the rear seat belt connector is mounted to the floor. I have 2 Rockford Fosgate amps, not sure of the model #.
A friend of mine mounted his amp under the passenger seat, he installed the crossovers in a void under the console on the 06 and up Sport truck.

it would fit just barely in that part of the back seat between the seat and the back, but i wouldnt be able to lift the seat up. which someone would inevitably try to do.
i was looking undernearth the seats but especially on the drivers side, theres just too much movement in those seats for me to feel comfortable putting it there. hard to explain but i have two amps, one of which is a 4 channel amp. so there would be 4 rca cables, a power, a ground, a remote, and 4 speakers wires just hanging there .....not to mention itd be a pain running that underneath the carpet. thats a lot of wires to try hide without bulging out.

My amps must be smaller....but I can see that if you trim the cardboard back there it should give you 2 or 3 more inches. I tried mine and could still lift and close the seat...but it was tight...I actually had the force the cardboard back a bit to get them to fit.

I mounted mine behind the back seats ion my 03 QC ?Hemi.
I cut around the cardboard on the back wall after taking it out and fixed a small piece of wood to the back wall using some quick set mastic glue. You know, the "no more nails" type stuff.
Just make sure you get the quick set variety.
I then screwed the amp into this making sure the screws didn't go all the way through the wood and the cab back wallLOL
and put the carboard back over the install.
Nice, neat and clean.
I had to do a bit of shaving to the metal at the back of one of the seats, to stop the seat latch mechanism fouling on the amp, when raising/lowering the seat base. But that was no biggy.
A power file does the job nice and quick.
The cables all run underneath the sills at either side of the doors so they are hidden from view.
My Joe Fox Box which I imported into the UK, (super quality btw)is fitted with 2x12" Rockford Fosgates, sitting below my rear seatand I know that audiofiles will say, I have too much speaker for the small air space, but hey...............it sounds GREAT to me!!!!
