Just for the other people reading this, I would never have anything to do with your car installed at circuit city. I'm sure BenD. is one of the better ones but most of the time they'll do a ****ty job and they're always under staffed so you'll wait forever. Take it to a regular alarm installer that you've heard good things about...or learn to do it yourself.

It is listed on the sticker as an alarm but doesnt seem to do anything more than beep the horn if you open a door w/o unlocking using the RKE. I have the factory key with lock/unlock/panic buttons. There is a similar key/option (not on my truck) that includes the remote start and the key has a special button for start.

I dunno why our guys use those specialty bypasses for the gm passlock.I specifically remember in reading about how the passlock uses resistance across the tumbler. I don't fully understand the way the gm stuff works yet but meh I got time ya know lol. I know the bypass kit we use does more than that it also controls door lock functions and a few other things it's a strange deal that i don't fully understand yet.

I stand by our guys we have a great group of guys that know what they are doing and care about it. I'll also admit we've had a few in our time that would just rip **** apart. like instead of taking time to solder all connections just twisting and then electrical taping or just running wires ***** nilly for a remote start instead of tying it in nice. and trust me I know what you mean about CC not doing a good job.

my buddies gf had her's remote start done at a different circuit city. I pulled her dash apart just to see what type of job I woudl see. i found wires and **** hangin all over the place duct tape everywhere nothing tied up in the right place. it was horrifying to say the least

oks orry took me a little long to get back to ya.

looked up the 08 ram on our stuff and here's what I found. for one thing we can't do a remote start on the 08 ram yet. 07 yes but 08 no. our supplier DEI does not list a way to disarm the built in factory alarm, if ur vehicle has one, my guess it probably arms with lock and disarms with unlock but DEI doesn't list how and they list as the only way to arm and disarm is through the OEM remote. which means we can't do remstart. yet, my guess in a few months maybe we will but for now no. but it did list that a way to disarm would be to unlock and ground a doorpin but how we would go about that is unknown to me.

the ram is a tricky vehicle. for a couple of reasons. i was the only guy on so i couldn't ask anyone about the few things but it was weird. the parking lights on the vehicle need to be Diode isolated. basically they use resistance to trigger the lights. that way when u lock or unlock ur lights flash. the other issue was the lock and unlock wires. they are negative pulse which isn't bad but it has notes about using 300 ohm resistor to unlock and a 750 ohm resistor to unlock. I'm gonna talk to a few guys with more experience but yea it looks like it's an ugly job for that truck.
