I dont think its fair to group all teen drivers into the ******* category. or assume it was given to them by mommy and daddy. There are many teens on this site who work hard, and pay for thier own rig.

Just to be clear I wasn't picking on all teen drivers as I was one not too long ago, and really....if we wanna pick on teen drivers lets pick on teen girls.

it's just as bad here in orlando, smitty. I love the wheel-to-wheel nerf bars on your truck btw

Glad you like the nerf bars; sometimes I wish I had gotten the shorter ones so I could have brought my exhaust out behind them, but they were on clearance... plus, it sure is handy when you are trying to get something out of the bed of the truck.
As far as teenagers and driving habits.... I'll admit I did some stupid stuff when I was 16, 17.... calmed down a bit after my first wreck. Didn't do anything as stupid as driving 120mph down a private airstrip, and my dad wasn't stupid enough to turn me loose with his car either. I grew up watching "The Dukes of Hazzard" while living in The South, and it showed sometimes. My son, on the other hand, has never had a daredevil streak, and I'm glad. He still needs more experience, but at least he's not a speed freak.
There are a couple of factors with teenagers and driving safety issues. The first one is maturity, of course; some kids need to grow up more before they are turned loose with a 3,000 lb missle (and some parents just enable their kids by letting the get away with bad behavior). You can NOT be a safe driver until you learn that you aren't bulletproof. Another factor is simply experience; the only way to learn the skills to drive safely is tospend time behind the wheel. A person is the most dangerous the first year driving, be they 16 or 36, until instinctive reactions develop. Combine that with immaturity and lack of respect for the potiental dangers, and you have a disaster waiting to happen.
Detroit is BAD!! You have the kids in the burbs that has been given everything and you have some kids that drive junk that don't have money. There are some that drive very good and care how they drive but there are many that don't. It's those that create the stereo type the others.

^ I refuse to ride with teenage girls. I go anywhere with one and we take their car, I drive. I dread the day my sisters start driving.

Congrats, thats cool. There is always exceptions to the rule.
In college i had a crotch rocket, we were running a road course and i (am not hte fastes, ill admit) was getting my *** handed to me by this litttle tiny guy on gsxr1000. At the end of the run we all stopped for breakfast. He took of his helmet, and it was 20yr old girl, a hot one to boot.

those sorts of things have to be done in less public areas....as people have said in abandoned parking lots or old roads that few if any cars drive down....That kid should've been smarter than that....Being 18, I know im young, but I'm still responsible enough to know the difference between those sorts of things
