Default Kids with hemis...

I'm stiiting at a red light, thiers a mini van to my left, this kid in a white hemi short box decides he's going to pull a brake stand. Took a while to get em roasting, but while wiating for the light to turn grean, the stinky smell of ruber showers the my self and the mimi van, a mini van full of kids with the windows down.

Than the jack *** floors it all most rear ending the Mini van, light is still red, light turns grean, I take off extra slow, The Dumb .... races past me, cuts me off, than cuts off the minivan.

Next red light, I pull off the road get out of my truck with intentant to strangel the S.O.B, he's not interested in sticking arround, jumps the red light and all most gets hit.

I got his plate and called the R.C.M.P.

I can't handel dumb people abusing good cars/trucks ...

cuts of the mini van

I dont care about the car/truck. That is just dangerous to other drivers.

I'm all for burnouts, doughnuts, etc. Just find some old parkinglot or abandoned road and do it there.

I agree - I do my fair share of racing, burnouts doughnuts etc. but it's on empty roads - empty parking lots etc. there is a time and place for such actions where you are not putting other peoples lives or property at risk.

IQ test should be required for a drivers license

Kids tend to think that they are 10 feet tall and bullet proof. The think the bad always happens to someone else and and they never think of the repercussions that may follow. I have been there and done that and was extremely lucky. Now that I am older I value the right to drive and think first before I do something stupid.

Not to step on any toes around here, because I know there are some young guys that frequent this board, however the problem is the parents that GIVE these kids their vehicles. My parents made me get a job and save up for my first car, I paid $1,500 for it, had to pay my own insurance and upkeep. When you have to pay for something yourself, you respect it a LOT more. Not to mention when I got my first speeding ticket, and then subsequent Insurance hike, I respected the speed limits more as well.

I might say that I was a little upset at the time that my parents made me work through highschool like that seeings how they were financially sound, however, looking back I think that's one of the best things they've ever done for me.

Knock on wood, I've only had 2 speeding tickets in my life, and zero accidents (that were my fault). I give a big thanks to my parents for making me pay for vehicle and insurance. My Hemi gets driven with the utmost respect; burnouts??? Hell no, I've got to replace those tires in the future, I want them to last a while. Racing?? Hell no, I've got all my points back on my license and a low insurance bill, I want to keep it that way. WHY??? BECAUSE I PAY FOR EVERYTHING!!! Not my parents.....

hmmm... Sorry about the rant, but I was actually thinking about this earlier today...

Oh, and for the parents that say they don't want their children to work b/c their grades will suffer, I managed to work 30-40 hours a week, and graduate in the top 10 of my class.... A little hard work never hurt anyone...

It's not just kids, I've seen 30+ year olds driving like jackasses because they think their car is so hot. People like that need a hard lesson to learn, they'll shrug off a ticket and blame the cop. Unfortunately they don't learn until they've hurt themselves or worse, someone else.

red06Ram, I agree with the sentiment, but I'm sure you are familar with the phrase "200 IQ and no common sense." Personally I feel that it is far too easy to get a driver's license, and far too difficult to loose it. The police spend too much time writing frivalous speeding tickets (admittly I drive 5-10 over the limit on open roads) and not enough time enforcing reckless driving and just plain idiotic driving (illegal lane change, no signals, etc). Too many people have forgotten that driving is a priviledge, not a right. And the consequences just aren't harsh enough.

bwhite757, I completely agree.
