Has any one used a tunner on thier 5.7 with a 6sp? ( 06 2500 Ram )

My goal is to get better mileage at( dual ex completed ) I'm relly thinking I can buy a lot of gas and fast driving for the cost,

My highway mpg is good for a 3/4 truck, betwean 17 to 20 mpg at 60 mph, ( not using overhead )

Power wise my truck is ok, but I would like the best of booth worlds, would more H/p help milage at 70 Mph???

 

A good question cyclone429. I have my doubts that a tuner for us manual guys would be worth the expense, still I'd like to hear feedback from anyone who has tried using a tuner with a manual.

wait... a 5.7L 6spd?? i... dont... believe it. never knew a HEMI ram had a 6spd. ****, id be all up on it if it did!!!

 

I believe a 6-speed manual is currently available with the Hemi in the 2500, but not the 1500. It's not the same 6-speed as in the 1500 though.

I havea 03 3/4 ton 5-speed HEMI. I have the superchips 3715. I think thats what the numbers on it are. Anyways you can defiantly tell a difference with it. gas miles only went up about 2 or 3 mpg. The big difference i notice was that i increased my rev limiter 500RPM, increased top speed to 120 MPH, of course havent tested that out. When in the performance mode i can defiantly tell a difference in power and speed. Never had it dyno'd. Awesome mod would advise it to anyone.

 

My 06 is a 2500, 5.7 6sp, the 6sp is not geared for drag racing, but more for torque, I Emailed Super chips and they sid the new version of the tuner ( don't rember name ) will work, My goal is to improve milage, power is all thier in stock form..

 

obviously u have more options with an auto because you can change shift points and such. but hey wait. with a manual you are in total control of that. so friggin right.
